Mary Staunton, MD
Mary Staunton is a psychiatrist with clinical and administrative leadership experience of 30+ years with Kaiser Permanente. Her career began as a psychiatrist in the U.S Air Force. She’s been a champion for trauma treatment, prevention and ending the intergenerational cycle of abuse. Led multi-disciplinary efforts in Family Violence Prevention which included partnering with community agencies. Launched the Maternal Infant Resilience program, a collaborative effort of Mental Health, Addiction Medicine, Pediatrics, and OBGYN, to provide early identification of families at risk, intervention and treatment. In 2025, completed the CIIS Certificate in Psychedelic Assisted Therapies and Research with intention of working with Veterans. Completed Oregon Health Authority Facilitator Licensure in hopes of serving Oregon VA veterans. Now coaching clients at The Mission Within and began a TMW weekly virtual Spouse Support Group. Provides ad hoc education about psychedelic treatment options and impact. Eager to contribute further to expanding access and capacity to provide safe, effective psychedelic treatment for all veterans and families. At the same time, continues to support efforts to establish psychedelic treatment within the U.S.
